Ai Sano wood work exhibition |
|

|

Every of Ms. Sano Ai's wood works gives a little chuckle. Even an empty container looks like it is filled with something gentle and warm. Look at these two pieces in the photo entitled "a sugar hut" and "a sweet hut" respectively. Open their roofs and you'll find happy sweet stuffs in them.
She says, "I'd like to make amusing things but not too much, which will allow you to form a picture in your mind about what they could be like". Drawings or patterns with the wood burning pen are not busy and kept to a minimum. That is the beauty of what she does. Her wares created in this way are full of individuality and have the essence of her own.
She says, "The exhibition period includes 3.11. That makes me nervous". But a large variety of works which are originally designed will sure make you feel at home and enrich your mind. Plates, cutlery etc as well as brooches and pendants are on display. This is a good chance to encounter them. |

Ms.Tago's colours or tints always have a pleasant surprise. Gentle lines, dots or faces create unexpected combination of colours. Red and orange, purple and pale blue, green and red etc exist together lovely in the warm and soft light. They give a bold but relieved impression.
She says, "Vivid coloured glassware is my distinguishing mark. I'd be so much happy if it could make your dining table have a pleasant cheerful feel. Last year I couldn't help but stopping making, but that might have allowed me to brush up my skills".
Every of her works presents an attractive impression both for decoration and for everyday use. It surely makes you feel a sense of joyfulness in your heart.
Now on view, a large variety of glass works, which are originally designed and have the essence of her own. This is a good chance to encounter them. |

Mr. Toshihiro Sue says, "I've been crafting something casual and comfortable, simple and calm". His white ceramics are just exactly simple as well as sophisticated and chic. Style is kept to a minimum but not too cool. Their graceful and elegant shapes are so good for your everyday use as well.
Suffered in Fukushima at 3.11, he's now in Seto, the mid-western part of Japan. He says, "I'm so happy to be engaged in crafting, and I realized there's nothing better than glimpses of the joy of our ordinary daily life and affection to others". Every of his works sure reflects his attentiveness like that.
Now on view, a large variety of pottery works which are originally designed and have the essence of his own. This is a good chance to encounter them. You'll have to find a particular favorite for your everyday use. |

Yasuko Onoda pottery exhibition |

In the photo, these lovely bottles are called furidashi. Ms. Onoda says, "Now the season is good for nodate, where you could use them". Furidashi features in the tea ceremony. The tea ceremony held outside is called nodate. But even in your daily life you must be so happy if traditional Japanese small confections such as konpeito or arare would unexpectedly come out of these furidashi. The motif that vividly embodies a touch of nature is sure to make you feel much happier.
She says, "What's attracted me most is the depth of expressing some things by decorating with just one colour. There are still more fantastic techniques or motifs that I'd like to challenge".
Now on view, the 4th time here at ACCa , a large variety of pottery works including hanging vases for a single-flower or tatara-plates etc, which are originally designed and have the essence of her own. Let's enjoy her friendly tasteful world. |

Iccho Matsuo glass work exhibition |
|
|
|
| @ |
Here at ACCa, this is the 3rd time of Iccho Matsuo glass work exhibition, where you can find a popular series of caskets entitled "something to collect lights". Each one is palm-sized and looks delicate, but it's really heavy when you put it in your palm.
As you grind away the outer layer of frosted glass, the inner layer of colourful rays and particles suddenly appears and creates its own personality. Then the casket will fill up with highly expressive soft different lights. That's the unique world of Mr. Matsuo.
Now on view, a large variety of glass works which are originally designed and have the essence of his own. As well as caskets, items good for everyday use such as dishes and chopstick rests are included. Let's enjoy his glass works that are soft-coloured and pleasant to touch. This is a good chance to encounter them. |
